WORLD 2018

The XVIII Women's Basketball World Championship, named from this edition of the Women's Basketball World Cup, was held on the island of Tenerife (Spain) between September 22 and 30, 2018, under the organization of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the Spanish Basketball Federation.

16 National Teams from 5 Continental Confederations participated, competing for the Title of World Champion, whose previous bearer was the United States Team, winner of the 2014 World Cup held in Turkey.

The United States National Team won the GOLD Medal by defeating Team Australia in the Final with a score of 56-73. In the match for Third Place, Spain beat Belgium 67-60.

The Top Scorer (143 pts.) Was Liz Cambage (Australian Player) and the Championship MVP was Breanna Stewart (American Player).
