The XXXVI European Women's Basketball Championship was held in the Czech Republic between June 16 and 25, 2017 . It was organized by the European Basketball Confederation (FIBA Europe) and the Czech Basketball Federation.

P articiparon 16 teams affiliated to FIBA Europe, competing for the European title, whose previous holder was the team of Serbia, winner of the EuroBasket 2015 .

The Spanish National Team won its 3rd Continental GOLD Medal by defeating the French Team in the Final with a score of 71-55. In the Match for third place, the Belgium team obtained its 1st Continental Medal, by beating the Team from Greece.

The Top Scorer (133 pts.) Was Cecilia Zandalasini (Italian Player), and the Championship MVP was Alba Torrens (Spanish Player).
